Brad Pitt was in the delivery room as Angelina Jolie gave birth to their daughter, Shiloh.
The celebrity couple had decided on a caesarian birth as the baby was in a breech position.
The baby has been called Shiloh and was born in Namibia last weekend as Jolie'a Los Angeles obstetrician, Jason Rothbart, flew out to help staff at a private hospital to carry out the delivery.
The baby was healthy and was mum cut the umbilical cord.
Jolie and Pitt thanked the staff of the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital for their kindness and commitment in ensuring the successful birth of our daughter.
Doctors at that hospital try and make childbirth a holistic experience for the entire family to shar. They "room in" mothers and babies and mothers staying in the same room. They breastfeed and feed their babies on demand.
