Mothers can teach themselves how to be happy and manage their stress caused due to caring for children .
Looking after children often renders even the most angelic mother tired as well as irritable. They end up with little time to themselves, so they feel unhappy and unfulfilled.
However, there are ways for mums to improve their wellbeing, by enabling themselves to feel happy. If, according to experts, they follow the key steps, all mums did so they would be able to lead fulfilling, contented lives.
Netmums, an online support group for mothers, established the experiment across the country.
1,000 plus mums participated in the experiment, which asked them to adhere to 10 simple 'happiness principles'.
The tasks that mums has to perform daily to boost their happiness levels included saying hello to a stranger, chatting to a friend or helping someone out.
They were also encouraged to undertake more exercise, spend less time in front of the television and spend more quality time with their partner .
The participants then had to score on a scale of 1 to 100 how happy they were within this Making Mums Happy experiment. Initially, the average score was 52. However, after pursuing the happiness principles for four weeks, the average score rose to 64.
Social isolation is also plays a critical factor in the unhappiness of mothers, with many of us living further away from families and therefore receiving less practical and emotional support.
All is all if someone's quality of life has improved, it can only be positive.
