What's hot and what's not Autumn-Winter 2005/06

For women when it comes to hair this season, everything mimics the latest romantic look, with loose natural flowing waves. Gone are the poker straight locks, in comes the fresh romantic natural tresses. Here is a snapshot of what's hot and what's not for women.

Hot: Warm rich hair colour . Hair colour is definitely going dark this season for women. According to Wella experts, colours that women should opt for this season include, seductive fiery reds, alluring copper tones, nougat brown, natural brunette, and deep warm reds. Gone are also the heavy highlights, instead choose a single all over colour.

Not: Overdone and obvious highlights and summer bleached look, teamed up with a frizz from hell - a recipe to stay single.

Hot: Tousled natural tresses . Anything that looks as if you have tried too hard is out. Instead go for a romantic just got out of bed locks. If you have natural wavy hair then you will be the envy of all. Just scrunch your hair and add a little shine serum and there you have a ready made fresh off the catwalk look to die for. For those women who have poker straight hair, worry not, try investing in some heated roller, but don't keep them in for too long - just enough to give a little kink, that is all that is needed.

Not: Regimented curls and ironed hair , so throw those curling tongs and straighteners to the back of the wardrobe for now.

Hot: Long subtle layers . Women are opting for long smooth layers to complete that romantic feminine look.

Not: Short blunt layers . These are just too harsh for this seasons gentle romantic trends.

Hot: Ponytails , at the nape of your neck. Whether you are an older woman or a teenager, this season everyone will be doing it. Team this up with hair accessories such as hair broaches, pins, alice hairbands and ribbons

Out: Fussy piled up hair . A big no no for all women this season

Hot: A bob with a feathered fringe . Bobs are also back on the menu this season thanks to celebs likes of Paris Hilton, a fashion icon for many women.

Not: Harsh blunt cut bob . Avoid the all one length fringe at all costs

Hot: Straight middle or side parting . A small measure of simplicity in a season full of frills and thrills.

Not: Creative partings . But there are other ways to put your creative flair to use.

Hot: Alice hairbands , in all sorts of designs, from metallics and sequence to more everday designs. Whether you are a teenager or sophisticated older generation, alicebands are for everyone this season. Choose a style that suits you.

Not: Big silk flowers , leave them for the summer holidays.
