Actress Katie Holmes has given birth to a baby girl, who has been named Suri, meaning Princess.
Katie got engaged to celebrity actor Tom Cruise last June.
Mother and daughter are doing well, with baby Suri weighing in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces.
Suri means "princess" in Hebrew and "red rose" in Persian.
Tom Cruise is currently in the middle of his promotional campaign for the latest "Mission: Impossible III", out in May.
Cruise already has two older adopted children with Nicole Kidman, 13 year old daughter Isabella and 11 year old son Connor.
We can all remember last May when Cruise madly couch hopped during his appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" last May, when he declared his love for Katie.
A website has been hawking "Free Katie" T-shirts, coffee mugs and stickers, refering to jokes that Holmes was been indoctrinated by Cruise into the Church of Scientology, of which he is a leading member.
They are yet to set a wedding date.
