Welsh women are apparently the most glamorous women in the UK, so recent research out today shows.
iVillage.co.uk's study reveals that it is Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones most UK women wish to be like.
Welsh women are followed in terms of glamour by women in Greater London, Scotland, East Midlands, North West England and Northern Ireland.
On the other hand, the least glamorous women are on the South Coast, in the South West and the South East, North East, West Midlands and the East Midlands.
Well not sutprisingly the word glamour originates from ancient Welsh. It is the name of a paint applied to one's face and body before ensuing battle.
3,500 women were questioned regarding their clothes, how frequently they go to the hairdressers as well as beauticians and whether they would wear a tracksuit outside a gym .
Welsh women own more designerwear items than other women, with 25% stating that they have six or more such items. Bristol women own the least designer items, with over a third stating that they did not have a single one.
29% of Welsh women admit clothes shopping more than once a week, with 4% stating that they do so each day. Women on the South Coast spend as well as shop the least. 32% claim that they rarely go clothes shopping.
41% of Scottish women consider their image to be important for them. Scottish women are also least likely to don a tracksuit when not in the outside the gym, 80% of them. However, for 40% of women in Northern Ireland their tracksuit is a key basic that they would not do without.
Women in Northern Ireland make more of an effort with their hair, visiting the hairdressers more than any other region .
London women are preened and polished most of all. They have more pedicures, 32%, more manicures, 45%, massages, 25%, and facials, 39%, than any women elsewhere. In stark contrast, 57% of women in the South West have never received beauty treatments.
Welsh women love to keep up appearances; 36% never leave the house without make up on and 75% check their appearance and change prior to picking their children up from school.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is that woman most women 14% wish to look like, followed by Angelina Jolie, 9%, Kate Moss, 8%, Victoria Beckham , 8%, Coleen McLoughlin, 7%, Scarlett Johanson, 6%, Sienna Miller, 6% and Gwyneth Paltrow, 6%.
